    What are the types of insomnia?

    Acute insomnia
    It is defined as an inability to sleep for a brief period of time and it generally resolves with proper treatment plan. This type o0f insomnia is caused due to stressful events or trauma.

    Chronic insomnia
    This kind of insomnia lasts for longer period of time. It is defined as an inability to sleep for at least three nights per week and if it lasts for three months and more.

    What can be done for insomnia?
    Insomnia or sleeplessness can be treated with medicines and also with natural remedies and tips. You can either take drugs or therapies or combine these two1 to get maximum effect.

    Temperature
    Too much warm temperature can make you sweaty whole cold temperature can make you shiver. In both the cases, you may not get proper slumber. To prevent this, you must set the right temperature that is nourishing for your sleep pattern.

    Set the mood
    It is easy to do. Deem the lights; turn off electronic devices that make sound, listen to calming music before you sleep. These activities, though they look simple, are effective.

    Essential oils
    Aromatherapy or using essential oil for inducing sleep is an effective method for getting sound sleep. Lavender oil, chamomile oil are some of the commonly used oils to induce sleep. You can put a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow and sniff it. You can drink chamomile tea or smell the oil to doze off easily.

    Calm your mind down
    Meditation is the key to keep your mind calm and free from chaos. If you are not a fan of meditation, you can always read a good book before hitting the bed or listen to some calming music. These two help you get proper sleep.

    Skip simple carbs at night
    Simple carbs and sugar get digested easily and make you drain of energy. This results in late night snacking which is ultimately connected to weight gain. To break this pattern, eat some complex carbs at night and avoid sugar.
    Insomnia is treatable and you must not ignore the symptoms.
