ESox newcomer Kevin Ellis set the tone for the entire game by tossing 5 very good innings, striking out 4, and only allowing 1 hit as Edina defeated St. Louis Park 5-2 at Braemar. Offensively, Edina struck early and often against Park's pitching with 11 hits and building a 5-0 lead after 4 innings. St. Louis Park's Dave Lindstrom hit a 2 run homer in the 6th to cut into Edina's lead. Things got pretty scary in the 8th for Edina as St. Louis Park utilized a Casey Garvin single, Chris Duda reaching on an error, and a Chris Johnson hit by pitch to load the bases with no outs. However, Dave Lindstrom grounded into a 5-2-3 double play and first baseman Matt Paulsen lined out to end the inning empty handed for St. Louis Park. The ESox Jay Bresnahan, Erik Quarberg, and Brashad Johnson all had multiple hits for Edina.
