ESOX 6, Richfield 1
The Edina ESox notched another Riverview victory by soundly defeating the Ramblers of Richfield 6-1 at Braemar. Starting pitcher Mark Schroeder, who will be pitching at North Dakota this fall after spending two years with DMACC, threw a brilliant game for Edina. Schroeder allowed 4 hits, struck out 7 batters, and allowed no earned runs in 6 innings of work. Nate Briscoe, Brashad Johnson, Erik Quarberg, Reggie Dunlop, and rookie Kirk Kenneally all had at least one hit to lead Edina's offense. The big inning for the ESox came in the 3rd when they added 4 runs, all with two outs. Dallas Jagelia started the rally with a walk and Reggie Dunlop laced a single to right field to put two runners on for catcher Sean Toomey. Toomey hit a ground ball to the second baseman who couldn't field it cleanly, which allowed Dallas to score and Toomey to reach base. With Dunlop at second and Toomey at first, Kirk Kenneally roped a double to left field scoring two runs. The following hitter, Nate Briscoe, hit another double to deep center scoring Kenneally and completing the big inning for Edina. Trevor Sorenson struck out two hitters in the 7th inning to secure the victory for Edina.
