As long as we’re talking about certain people who should be kicked in the balls for making bad movies about technology products, let’s add Aaron Sorkin to the mix. He’s thinking of making a movie about, you guessed it, Facebook.
If Sorkin goes through with this wonderful (eye-roll) idea, I’m sure it’ll be a really great movie (double eye-roll). He sounds like he’s just the guy to make the film, too (triple eye-roll) as he says on his own Facebook group “I figured a good first step in my preparation would be finding out what Facebook is, so I’ve started this page. (Actually it was started by my researcher, Ian Reichbach, because my grandmother has more Internet savvy than I do and she’s been dead for 33 years.” In other news, I’ll be writing a movie about break dancing after I learn what “popping and locking” means.
To be fair, Sorkin has been behind some pretty dynamite shows; The West Wing and Sports Night, to name a couple. And the movie will apparently be about the story behind Facebook, which I guess could be kind of interesting. Hopefully they’ll tap Dustin Diamond (Screech on Saved by the Bell) to play Mark Zuckerberg.

We have here what appear to be some actual, big-boy shots of the impending T-Mobile HTC Dream. You know, the Android phone? As always, take these types of things with a grain of salt, although these photos do look pretty convincing. The shots were grabbed from a Chinese-language forum and sent to Engadget. My Chinese isn’t all that good, considering I’ve never been there, spoken the language, or learned to read the many and varied symbols. These photos should be worth a couple thousand words in any language, though.

Your task was to come up with a caption for the above photo, which shows our intrepid editor John Biggs wearing one of his new shoes from Aussie Soles.
Here are your winners, ladies and gentlemen. They’ll each take home an IPEVO POV webcam for their troubles. Winners, we’ll contact you via e-mail to arrange shipment.

Well thought out, poignant, makes you think. Plus, other commenters voted this one to be a winner so who are we to argue?

This one appeals to the senses. A commercial could be made in the style of the Calvin Klein TV ads made popular in the late eighties. The first three lines pull you in, the final two sentences knock you to the ground yet leave you wanting more.

This one was actually the first comment on the original review of the Aussie Soles. I can tell you with 100% honesty that I actually LOL’ed twice. Well crafted, Paul. Although you didn’t know it at the time, your comment would go on to win a contest that hadn’t even been invented yet. You, my friend, are the FUTURE!

Do you have no-good, bratty, whiney kids who think the world revolves around them and make you drive them to all the cool hangouts around town just so they can avoid having to sit by themselves in the cafeteria even though all that stuff won’t matter by the time they’re 30 and actually realize how ridiculously unimportant their lives were when they were in middle school?
Me neither, but I can’t wait to have kids. I think I’d be a pretty cool dad.
The first item I’d pick up for my car would be this thing called Dad’s Cab, which I’d attach to my dashboard. When my bratty, no-good daughter asked me to take her to a friend’s house so she can watch The Hills because I’ve blocked MTV, E!, and SOAPnet from our TV, I’d fire up Dad’s Cab and start the meter running.
Now normally, Dad’s Cab uses fare cards that say things like “Bring me a mug of tea and the paper on the weekend†or “Clean your room†or “Vacuum the living room rugâ€.
I’d alter my cards to say things like “Pay 1/4 of the mortgage this month since you actively use at least 1/4 of the living space in our house†or “Buy yourself any pairs of pants that cost over $30 since you seem to think paying $180 for a pair of jeans is actually going to escalate you to the next social strata†or “Figure out how you’re going to pay for Cancun since your mother and I sure as hell don’t think of that as a relaxing vacation.â€
Dad’s Cab costs £9.95 and might not be available in the US, which is probably a good thing for my future children.

This thing just makes sense – lots and lots of sense. It’s the Honlai Qingbar MP101 and I have no idea if you can actually buy one. If and when you’re indeed able to purchase this doodad, you’ll be able to project 640×480 movies and photos from your iPhone (or iPod Touch) while charging the device at the same time.
The bulb is apparently good for at least 20,000 hours and there’s a built-in 2W speaker. Contrast ratio is a little on the puny side at 200:1 but, hey, this thing will probably be inexpensive and, if so, I’d buy one for my iPod Touch.

Joey Fatone (of N’SYNC and Dancing with the Stars fame) is apparently alive and well, goes by the name Daniel Deutsch, and has built a working, full-sized Star Wars Landspeeder. I’ll be damned. This thing is pretty impressive. It’s capable of going up to 25 miles per hour and can go “several miles on a single battery charge.â€
The little details are amazing, too, right down to all the nicks and scratches – it looks like it’s actually been driven around Tatooine for a few years. Check out some more photos here, along with some cool R2D2 robots that Deutsch and friends built.

John got sent a pair of stylish Aussie Soles yesterday (see his review here).
Here’s a photo of the left-most shoe for your enjoyment. Try as we might, we just can’t come up with a suitable caption for such an interesting photo. Help us out by leaving a caption for the above photo in the comments section, would you?
We’ll give the authors of the three best captions an IPEVO POV webcam (reviewed here, product page here). Entries will be accepted until 12:00 PM Eastern this Friday and announced on our live podcast, which starts an hour later at 1:00 PM.

Hey, not a bad deal here for a sorta-nice emergency pre-paid phone. You can pick up a refurbished Sony Ericsoon Z750 from AT&T for $39.99, which includes a $25 prepaid card. So the whole getup ends up costing you less than the three disgusting Chipotle burritos you’re going to try to scarf down at lunchtime today.
The Z750, in case you’re wondering, is a 3G phone! That means lighting quick access to AT&T Mobile Music streaming, I guess. Plus, it’s a world phone that works on a wide range of GSM networks.
Add all the crap I mentioned above, plus an external OLED screen, 2-megapixel camera with video capture, Memory Stick Micro expansion, and stereo Bluetooth and you’ve got yourself a pretty nice little backup phone.
